RO4 Our regulation of the National Lottery Licence

National Lottery underage test purchase data

An important part of our responsibility to ensure that interests of all participants are protected is by ensuring the operator of the National Lottery has controls in place to stop underage play.

Our regulatory activity is aimed at ensuring high levels of assurance that age verification controls are effective. One way of measuring that is through test-purchase activity.

This data is based on average first pass rates supplied by the licensee in line with the requirements of the 4NL Licence and Regulatory Handbook. The current National Lottery Licence commenced in February 2024, and we will be presenting a table on this page when the data becomes available later this year.
