Summary

This report provides statistics by Licensing Authorities (LAs) in respect of their duties under the Gambling Act 2005 (opens new tab) for the regulation of gambling in Great Britain.

This edition reports on the periods between April 2023 and March 2024. For reference, the accompanying Excel file contains comparative data dating back to April 2014.

The Excel document features data supplied by 330 LAs in Great Britain.

This publication is primarily for anyone who has an involvement or interest in the gambling industry including government and local authorities.

About the status of official statistics.

This year 330 of Britain’s 350 LAs supplied data for the report.

Please note some changes were made to the 2021 to 2022 publication. The Licensing Authority Statistics for 2021 to 2022 onwards only contain statistics regarding inspections (including test purchase visits) and Local Authority Compliance Events.
