The Gambling Commission has released a statement welcoming the actions of the Rugby Football League (RFL).
The RFL suspended two players after they were found to have breached the sport’s rules relating to betting.
Richard Watson Head of the Gambling Commission’s Sports Betting Intelligence Unit said:
“The Gambling Commission’s Sports Betting Intelligence Unit works closely with the Rugby Football League to share intelligence on suspicious betting patterns.
“We welcome the outcome of this case which shows the RFL is determined to take firm action to uphold their rules on player betting.”
