LCCP previous changes

  1. November 2024 update

    New version of the LCCP published with effect from 29 November 2024. The changes are:

    Amended Operating Licence Code Provision 1.2.1 - to clarify and extend the operator staff management roles expected to hold a Personal Management Licence (PML).

  2. August 2024 update

    New version of the LCCP published with effect from 30 August 2024. The changes are:

    Added Social Responsibility (SR) Code Provision 3.4.4 - Financial vulnerability check for remote gambling businesses to undertake financial vulnerability checks to inform customer interaction decision making will come into force from 30 August 2024. Paragraph 7 is in force between 30 August 2024 to 27 February 2025.

    Added Social Responsibility (SR) Code Provision 3.4.6 - Financial risk assessments pilot for some remote gambling businesses to participate in a pilot period for financial risk assessments will come into force from 30 August 2024.

    Amended Social Responsibility (SR) Code Provision 3.2.3 (8) to remove the exemption for smaller operators to conduct test purchasing, so that the requirement applies to all categories of adult gaming centre operators.

    Amended Social Responsibility (SR) Code Provision 3.2.5 (7) to remove the exemption for smaller operators to conduct test purchasing, so that the requirement applies to all categories of non-remote bingo and family entertainment centre operators.

    Amended Social Responsibility (SR) Code Provision 3.2.7 (text in the header regarding its application) to remove the exemption for smaller operators to conduct test purchasing, so that the requirement applies to all categories of non-remote general betting (standard) operators.

    Amended Ordinary Code Provision 3.2.2 (4) to reference a ‘Think 25’ approach rather than ‘Think 21’.

    Amended Ordinary Code Provision 3.2.4 (2) to reference a ‘Think 25’ approach rather than ‘Think 21’.

    Amended Ordinary Code Provision 3.2.6 (2) to reference a ‘Think 25’ approach rather than ‘Think 21’.

    Amended Ordinary Code Provision 3.2.8 (2) to reference a ‘Think 25’ approach rather than ‘Think 21’.

    Removed Ordinary Code Provision 3.2.4 (5) because it became obsolete with the removal of the test purchasing exemption.

    Removed Ordinary Code Provision 3.2.6 (2) because it became obsolete with the removal of the test purchasing exemption.

    Removed Ordinary Code Provision 3.2.8 (text in the header regarding its application) because it became obsolete with the removal of the test purchasing exemption.

  3. July 2024 update

    New version of the LCCP published with effect from 01 July 2024. The changes are:

    Amended Licence condition 15.3.1- to require all operators to submit regulatory returns on a quarterly basis.

  4. April 2024 update

    New version of the LCCP published with effect from 01 April 2024. The changes are:

    Amended Social Responsibility (SR) Code Provision 3.5.5 - to extend the requirement to participate in the GAMSTOP multi-operator self-exclusion scheme to all gambling businesses that make and accept bets by telephone and email.

    Added Licence Condition 15.2.2 - Other reportable events - for all gambling businesses to inform us when they become aware that a person who has gambled with them has died by suicide.

  5. January 2024 update

    New version of the LCCP published with effect from 31 January 2024. The changes are:

    Amended Licence Condition 5.1.2 – Payment methods and services.

  6. October 2023 update

    New version of the LCCP published with effect from 31 October 2023. The changes are:

    Amended Social Responsibility (SR) Code Provision 3.4.3 to make an update to the in force dates. From 31 October 2023, the entire code provision is in force. Guidance associated with this code provision has also been published and is in effect from 31 October 2023.

  7. September 2022 update

    New version of the LCCP published with effect from 12 September 2022. The changes are:

    Amended Social Responsibility (SR) Code Provision 3.4.1 to make the provision apply only to premises-based gambling.

    Added Social Responsibility (SR) Code Provision 3.4.3 introduced for remote gambling operators, with the majority of the provision coming into effect from 12 September 2022. Paragraph 10 comes into effect on 12 February 2023. In paragraph 1, the words ‘as explained in the Commission’s guidance (see paragraph 2)’; and the entirety of requirements 2 and 3 are not yet in effect. Guidance associated with this provision is not in effect and operators are not required to take it into account.

  8. October 2020 update

    New version of the LCCP published with effect from 31 October 2020. The changes are:

    Added Licence condition 15.1.3 – Reporting suspicion of offences (All non-remote casino, non-remote bingo, general betting, adult gaming centre, family entertainment centre and remote betting intermediary (trading rooms only) licences).

    Added Licence condition 15.2.3 – Other reportable events (All non-remote and remote casino operating licences).

    Amended Licence conditions 8.1.1, 8.1.2, and 8.1.3 – Display of licensed status.

    Amended Licence conditions 13.1.1 and 13.1.2 – Pool betting.

    Amended Licence conditions 15.1.1 and 15.1.2 – Reporting suspicion of offences.

    Amended Licence conditions 15.2.1 and 15.2.2 – Reporting events (All operating licences).

    Amended Licence condition 15.3.1 – Regulatory returns (All operating licences).

    Amended Social Responsibility (SR) Code Provisions 3.2.1, 3.2.3, 3.2.5 and 3.2.7 – Access to gambling by children and young persons.

    Amended Ordinary code provision 4.2.8 – Betting integrity (All betting operating licences, including betting intermediary, ancillary remote betting, and remote betting intermediary (trading rooms only) licences).

    Amended Social Responsibility (SR) Code Provision 5.1.1 – Rewards and bonuses (All licences (including ancillary remote licences), except gaming machine technical and gambling software licences).

    Amended Social Responsibility (SR) Code Provision 6.1.1 – Complaints and disputes (All licences (including ancillary remote licensees) except gaming machine technical and gambling software licences).

    Amended Personal licence conditions – section 3.

  9. July 2020 update

    New version of the LCCP published with effect from 29 July 2020. The changes are:

    Added Licence condition 4.3.3 – Lotteries – Information to consumers (All lottery operating licences issued to non-commercial societies, local authorities and external lottery managers).

    Amended Licence condition 11.1.1.2 (All lottery operating licences issued to non-commercial societies or local authorities).

    Amended Licence conditions 11.1.1.5 and 11.1.1.6 – Lotteries – managers (All lottery operating licences issued to non-commercial societies or local authorities).

    Amended Licence condition 11.2.1.2 – Lotteries – managers (All lottery operating licences issued to non-commercial societies or local authorities).

    Amended Licence conditions 11.2.1.5 and 11.2.1.6 – Lotteries managers (All lottery operating licences issued to non-commercial societies or local authorities).

    Removed Licence condition 2.1.1 – Key equipment (All remote casino, bingo and betting licences other than ancillary licences and remote betting intermediary (trading room only) licences).
