23 March 2026
The government has published new digital identity guidance (opens in new tab) to help the regulated sector (including casinos) comply with the requirements to conduct identity checks under The Money Laundering Regulations 2017 (MLRs) (opens in new tab). The guidance also includes information on:
- adopting trustworthy digital verification services
- how requirements under the MLRs interact with the UK digital verification services trust framework (opens in new tab) and the associated governance structure underpinned by The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (opens in new tab).
The Office for Digital Identities and Attributes has also published a related blog (opens in new tab).
