James Grimes register of interests

The purpose of a register of interests is to ensure the Commission is able to identify and manage potential conflicts that may influence their duties. For the most senior decision-makers and advisers in the organisation, their register of interests will be published on the Commission website as part of our commitment to transparency and the requirements of Cabinet Office Code of Conduct for Board Members of Public Bodies which specifies interests should be declared publicly.

No

Has a gambling operator voluntarily given you any funding – or do you hold a senior position in an organisation where this has happened?

No – For information: James is Head of Education and 'The Big Step' at GwL. GwL received a one-off payment of £2.88million from an operator. This was paid in connection with a regulatory failing which was investigated by the Gambling Commission. It is not considered a voluntary donation because of the unique circumstances of this payment and its link to a regulatory failing. The operator who is subject to the settlement has no control or influence on the allocation of the funding or how the money is spent.

GwL also received a regulatory settlement payment from another operator. Regulatory settlements are not voluntary contributions and the operator who is subject to the settlement has no control or influence on the allocation of the funding or how the money is spent. The settlement payment totalled £102,000
