Development of the Gambling Survey for Great Britain

Since we consulted on proposals to improve the way we collect data on adult gambling participation and the impact of gambling in 2020 we have developed a new methodology and approach to collecting this data.

The development stage included a pilot study and experimental phases alongside stakeholder engagement. In addition, the gambling activities we ask about in the survey have also been updated to reflect the current gambling landscape, meaning the data we collect is representative of gambling that is available today.

We have now concluded the development of the Gambling Survey for Great Britain, and moving forward this will be the source of our official statistics on gambling behaviours in Great Britain.
