Related party transactions

The Commission is a Non-Departmental Public Body funded through the collection of licence fees from the industry and grant-in-aid for National Lottery operations. DCMS is regarded as a related party. During the 12 months to 31 March 2020, the Commission has had a small number of material transactions with DCMS, comprising of:

  • grant-in-aid for revenue expenditure National Lottery operation - £2,770,019

  • grant-in-aid for revenue expenditure National Lottery competition - £15,083,535*

  • grant-in-aid for revenue expenditure Gambling Commission - £873,000

  • grant-in-aid advance for revenue expenditure - £794,000.

During the period none of the Commissioners, members of key management staff or other related parties have undertaken any material transactions with the Commission. All Commissioners were paid by the Commission, see remuneration report for further details.
