View playing history and restrict or block gambling activity
Access to account activity
Websites must give you access to your historic account activity.
Having access to your account activity means you will be able to see exactly:
- when you've gambled
- how much you've spent
- what you've been gambling on.
Monitoring this type of activity means you will be able to make well-informed decisions about gambling. It also means you will be able to spot patterns in your gambling, for example, if your gambling has increased.
Limit gambling advertisements on social media
Although is is not possible to completely remove adverts on social media platforms, there are ways in which you can limit them or hide them from your feed.
You can read our guides on controlling gambling related content you see on Twitter and controlling gambling related content you see on Facebook.
Financial transaction blocks through your bank
Many banks allow you to block gambling payments from your account. You can read our guide on which banks offer a gambling blocking service.
Gambling blocking software
You can download gambling blocking software onto your devices, or use applications like GamBan (opens in new tab) which allows you to block your access to gambling websites or other online gambling services.
There are two types of software available:
Gambling-specific blocking software: These are designed to block gambling websites.
General blocking software: These are designed to block a range of websites and can be used to set permissions or parental controls.
Product exclusions and account restrictions
You are able to block specific casino game which is useful if you've noticed you're spending more time on one type of game.
You cannot do this with sports betting.
