How can I stop getting gambling marketing texts and emails?
Gambling businesses should only send you marketing texts or emails if you have given your consent for them to do so.
Stop unwanted marketing texts
If you want to stop receiving marketing texts follow the opt-out instructions in the message.
Usually you'll need to text 'STOP' to a phone number or 5 digit number. The organisation should then stop sending you marketing texts.
Report unwanted texts
You can also report the messages to your mobile network operator. They may be able to stop you getting any future spam messages from that number.
You can either contact your network operator’s customer services, or forward spam text messages to 7726.
If you still receive marketing texts from the business, you can report them to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) (opens in new tab).
You can find out more about the rules for marketing communications by text message on the ICO website (opens in new tab).
Stop unwanted marketing emails
If you want to stop receiving marketing emails click the ‘unsubscribe’ link provided in the email. The business should then stop sending you marketing emails.
You could also contact the gambling business directly to request that they stop sending you emails.
