Our corporate governance framework sets out the necessary responsibilities and procedures that guarantee we operate properly.

3.2 As the elected representatives responsible for Government policy, the Secretary of State and Responsible Minister establish the framework in which the Gambling Commission operates and are ultimately accountable for the Commission’s delivery of the statutory objectives. Their responsibilities include:

  • establishing the policy framework within which the Commission must operate
  • establishing an appropriate fees framework to enable the Commission to deliver its functions
  • recruitment and appointment of the Chair and Commissioners, and annual appraisal of the Chair
  • approval of the terms and conditions of the CEO’s appointment.
