Prison for online poker cheat ordered to pay back £1m
20 January 2015
An online poker player found guilty of fraud has been jailed and ordered to pay back £1m.
Nick Tofiluk, the Gambling Commission’s Director of Regulatory Operations, said:
“We believe this to be the first such prosecution of an online poker player, which sends out a clear message that if you play poker fraudulently online you could end up both in prison and having to repay your ill-gotten gains.”
Further details about the sentencing are in the Grimsby Telegraph.
