Dr Anna van der Gaag holds regulatory roles in the health, social care and legal sectors and has a particular interest in how regulators can be proactive in the prevention of harm.

Formerly Chair of the Health and Care Professions Council, she is the Senior Independent Director, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

She is also a founding member of the Q Community, a quality improvement network led by the Health Foundation.

Anna has a strong research background and contributes to research in regulation internationally as well as in the United Kingdom.

She was awarded the CBE for services to health and care in 2015.
