Extending the requirement to assess money laundering risk to the non-remote lottery sector
Consultation start date: 09 May 2016
Consultation end date: 20 June 2016
Consultation
This consultation sought views on whether the requirement to assess money laundering risk should be extended to non-remote lottery licence holders.
Our consultation from 2015, proposed amendments to licence conditions and codes of practice (LCCP) for all operators in relation to the prevention of crime associated with gambling, included a proposal to introduce a requirement for all operating licences except non-remote lottery, gaming machine technical and gambling software licences to assess and ensure they have plans in place to manage the risk of money laundering to their businesses.
After assessing views on this proposal, we concluded in our response to the consultation that we would implement this proposal, and issue this supplementary consultation to determine whether we should extend the requirement to non-remote lottery licence holders.
Response
Having considered the responses we received, we have decided that we will extend the requirement to include non-lottery licence holders.
