The Gambling Commission responses to your enquiries are as follows:
1) How much the Gambling Commission receives annually from gambling companies to be allowed to operate.
The Gambling Commission publishes its total income from fees as part of its Annual Report and Accounts.

3) How many companies contribute to the Gambling Commissions funding.
Our work is funded by fees set by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS). These fees are paid by the gambling businesses and individuals we license. These fees fund all gambling regulation except for the National Lottery.
As such, all operators and individuals licenced by the Commission contribute towards the Commissions funding.

Review of the decision
If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your Freedom of Information request you are entitled to an internal review of our decision. Please note, internal review requests should be made within 40 working days of the initial response. Requests made outside this timeframe will not be processed.
If you are not content with the outcome of our review, you may then apply directly to the Information Commissioner (ICO) for a decision. Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have already exhausted the review procedure provided by the Gambling Commission.
