National Lottery Lotto ticket sales by day of the week
Request
Please provide any anonymised, aggregated data held by the Gambling Commission relating to National Lottery Lotto ticket sales by day of the week, for the most recent full calendar year available.
Specifically, I am requesting:
Total Lotto ticket sales, broken down by day of the week(Monday to Sunday) and by region (or the closest available geographical breakdown, such as nation (England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland] or local authority).
Where available, clarification of whether the figures represent:
- Number of tickets sold
- Total sales value
- Or both
If the Commission holds any internal definitions or notes relating to weekly purchasing patterns (for example, weekday vs weekend play),please include these in aggregated or summary form.
Separately, for the same period, please provide anonymised, aggregated data showing the day of the week on which winning jackpot Lottery tickets were sold, broken down by:
Day of the week (Monday to Sunday), and Region or nation(or the closest available geographical breakdown).
If the requested data is not held in exactly this format, I would be grateful for the closest equivalent aggregated dataset that allows comparison of lottery ticket purchasing and jackpot-winning ticket sales by dayof the week.
