GGY from licensed bingo premises
Request
I understand the Commission's position regarding Section 43(2) and the commercial sensitivity of operator-level or local authority-level data. To avoid identifying any individual operator, I would like to narrow and reframe my request as follows:
For each of the last five calendar years (2020-2024, or the most recent five years you hold), please provide the total GGY from licensed bingo premises grouped by one of the following, so that no single operator's figures can be identified (whichever is easiest for you to provide):
- The 12 standard UK Government Office Regions (e.g., North West, East Midlands, London, etc.), or
- Any other regional or multi-local authority grouping you hold where each category contains at least three licensed operators.
I am not requesting operator-level or individual premises data - only aggregated figures with no identifiable operator. Any format (spreadsheet, CSV, table, or PDF) is acceptable.
If all five years cannot be provided within the cost limit, please provide the most recent three years.
Response
Thank you for your request which has been processed under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
In your email you have requested:

We do not hold data that gives us Bingo GGY by region. As such, we are unable to fulfil your request. However, the published industry statistics reported to us by the operators we license and regulate, provides an overview of the size and shape of the customer facing gambling industry in Great Britain. This includes information specific to bingo.
