Declarations of active political affiliations

In relation to your response to a Freedom of Information request submitted on 11 February 2025, the Gambling Commission stated that:
"I can confirm that on 21 June 2024 an email was sent to any Gambling Commission employees who had the potential to be directly involved with the investigation related to betting on the General Election. This communication requested any declarations of any active political affiliations, such as, donations to a party/candidate standing for election, volunteering for a party within the last 12 months, holding a position within apolitical party or being a candidate. For clarity the scope of this request does not cover information about individual voting intentions or voting history, just active political engagement."
Please provide:
The text of the email of 21 June
The number of declarations of active political affiliations that were made
The breakdown of any such declarations by political party.
Please note that I am not asking for any information which could lead to an individual being identified.

Thank you for your request which has been processed under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
In your email you have requested information in relation to your response to a Freedom of Information request submitted on 11 February 2025, in which the Gambling Commission stated that:

You have asked the Gambling Commission to provide:

Section 40(2)
We have redacted from the attached, information relating to identifiable individuals that would constitute personal data.
The Data Protection Act 2018 requires personal data to be processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject. It is the view of the Commission that disclosing the personal information within the attached documents would constitute the disclosure of personal data and would contravene this principle.
This information is therefore exempt under section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Review of the decision
