Next steps for National Strategy implementation

26 June 2020

What is next for the National Strategy to Reduce Gambling Harms?

The Advisory Board for Safer Gambling (ABSG), the Gambling Commission’s advisors, have today published the progress report (PDF) on the first year of the Strategy. The ABSG’s report provides an overview of progress in delivering the National Strategy.

In addition to the progress report the Gambling Commission will shortly publish further key documents outlining in more detail the actions taken by a range of partners and the actions planned or in progress for the second year of the Strategy. These documents will be:

  • an implementation overview
  • a detailed map of actions for the second year of the Strategy, and;
  • the next steps on measuring impact.

These documents will help support ongoing collaboration on the priorities for measurable harm reduction actions and ways to address gaps. These actions are being delivered collaboratively between partners including health bodies, charities, regulators and the gambling industry. The documents collate information and input from each these bodies and partners.
