The National Lottery licence is due to expire in 2023 and the Gambling Commission is keen to engage with all interested parties ahead of the fourth National Lottery licence competition.

The world has changed since 1994, when there were only four TV channels and no smartphones in the UK. There have been major developments in technology channels available to operators and changes in consumer behaviours, since the last licence was awarded. The Commission is wishing to engage with all interested parties to listen to their views and, during formal market engagement, test the Commission’s draft policies and strategies for the 4th National Lottery licence competition.

As preparation for the competition continues, the Gambling Commission – the UK’s independent, statutory body responsible for awarding licences to run the National Lottery – is undertaking a process of initial market engagement to identify the best ideas, innovation and experiences to create a National Lottery that is fit for the future.

The event will set out:

  • how to engage with the Commission during market engagement
  • the current National Lottery landscape and the vision for the future
  • the commercial and competition plans
  • a view from a lottery beneficiary
  • how the Commission proposes to test and validate draft policies and requirements
  • next steps in the process and how the industry can engage in this process.

This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in shaping the way the 4th National Lottery licence could operate and continue to generate money for good causes.

Due to the expected number of attendees, the event will be booked on a first come basis and limited to one person per organisation. If colleagues from different areas of the business would also like to attend, we will put them on a reserve list and confirm closer to the event.

The entire event will be streamed live on a worldwide webinar to enable all those interested to participate, either in person or online. Details of how to participate in the webinar will be issued following registration for the event, on the link below.

Please book your place and enter one of the following codes:

  • attend the event in person: 475155
