Charles is the founder and CEO of Department of Trust, a provider of financial risk assessments to help gambling companies identify and build trust with vulnerable customers and reduce the risk of financial harm from gambling.

Charles’ entry into the gambling sector came in 2003 when he founded and was CEO of Probability plc, a pioneering provider of mobile phone based slots, casino and bingo content. Probability was acquired by IGT plc in 2014, when he became Vice President of Mobile, focussing on Lottery instant win and casino on-premise mobile gaming in Europe, the US, China and Australia. In 2017 he relocated to the US to head up the rollout of IGT’s sports betting platform following market regulation in 2018 before returning to the UK in 2021 to start DoTrust. He is also a non-executive Director of Games Global, a leading creator of online slots, where he chairs the ESG Committee.

Charles graduated in 1992 from Oxford University, studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics. Since 2023 he has also been a school Governor in the City Of London Academy Highbury Grove.
