DCMS publishes consultation on gambling regulation funding

28 January 2026

The Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has launched a consultation into the funding of the Gambling Commission.

The consultation will run until 29 March 2026 and is the first Fees Review for the Gambling Commission since 2021.

The 2023 white paper committed to a review of the Commission’s fees to ensure we have the resources to continue improving how we deliver our core responsibilities and the commitments connected to the Gambling Act Review white paper.

The Commission therefore welcomes this consultation which, subject to the outcomes of the consultation, will provide certainty on the Commission’s future income for the coming years.
