Addison Global Limited t/a Moplay licence has licence suspended
20 February 2020
Addison Global Limited trading as Moplay have faced an interim suspension of their operating licence, whilst their review takes place.
We have commenced a review under section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005 and, under section 118 of the Act, have decided to suspend Operating Licence No 050970-R-328650-008 Combined Remote Operating Licence – Real Event and Virtual Betting Casino held by Addison Global Limited.
We have decided to commence a review because we suspect that Addison Global Limited has breached a condition of the licence (section 120(1)(b) and is unsuitable to carry on the licensed activities (section 120(1)(d) of the Act). We consider it appropriate to suspend the licence with immediate effect pending the conclusion of the review.
The licence suspension makes it illegal for Addison Global Limited to offer gambling services via its moplay.co.uk website in Britain. We understand, due to its financial difficulties, the company is currently unable to process withdrawals.
For further information, customers are able to view the company’s terms and conditions (opens in a new tab).
We remain in contact with Addison Global Limited and expect clear and updated messaging for consumers regarding their accounts.
Edit
As of 12 March 2020 the licence for Addison Global lapsed as the company went into liquidation and it therefore cannot provide gambling to consumers in Great Britain.
