Following the conduct of a licence review, the Commission decided to revoke the Personal Management Licence issued to Mark Attree under the provisions of section 119 of the Act on the grounds that he was considered unsuitable to carry on the licensed activities permitted by the licence.

The Commission found that:

  • when working in a licensable role at Grosvenor Brighton Casino on 9 September 2018, CCTV recorded Mr Attree pick up an object from the casino floor which was identified as a gaming chip. He exchanged the chip for money with a customer. He did not report the matter to the duty manager and kept the money. Grosvenor Brighton Casino suspended him to allow an investigation into alleged gross misconduct. On 16 September 2018 he attended an investigation meeting conducted by his employer in respect of the allegation. During the meeting he admitted to the allegation and resigned with immediate effect
  • Mr Attree failed to inform the Commission of his resignation following the commencement of disciplinary proceedings in respect of gross misconduct.
