Prize competitions We do not regulate prize competitions and free draws and you do not need a licence to run them - but you must be careful you do not organise them in a way which could constitute an illegal lottery
Reverse auctions Reverse auctions are schemes where to win a prize you must make the lowest unique bid (generally in pence)
Penny auctions In a penny auction participants pay a fee to place small incremental bids on items they want
Spot the ball Spot the ball may involve betting, gaming, a prize competition or a lottery, depending on how your scheme is structured
Promoting your business with a customer lottery or raffle This type of lottery cannot make a profit so is not suitable for fundraising
Free draws Free draws can be organised commercially for private benefit and profit and many are offered as product promotions - a genuine free draw does not fall within our remit
