Changes to information requirements in the LCCP, regulatory returns, official statistics, and related matters
Reason for removal
Earlier this year, we consulted on proposals to improve regulatory returns data collection and some of our official statistics publications, alongside parts of the Licence conditions and codes of practice (LCCP) relating to the information requirements(opens in new tab) we require licensees to provide to us.
Our response to the consultation (PDF) outlined a number of proposals to make data requirements more efficient for licensees, and for us. Specifically, the proposals sought to:
- improve data quality and the efficiency of regulation
- reflect our continued focus on consumers and safer gambling
- ensure requirements are reconciled against our current and future data needs
- streamline our existing requirements and, where possible
- reduce regulatory burden.
In Part II of the consultation we proposed various changes, including introducing new regulatory return datapoints that would place a greater focus on consumers and the prevention of gambling-related harms (Question 2.5). We received a high number of comments on this question and needed more time to evaluate the responses. Therefore, we did not include our response to this question in the main consultation response.
In December 2020, we published a draft version of a consultation response addendum which summarised the responses received in relation to Question 2.5 and set out our position.
This draft consultation response addendum was published in error and we have now removed it from our website.Previous section
