Digital Advisory Panel - Declarations of Interests as at 17 January 2020

As part of the Gambling Commission’s commitment to good practice in corporate governance, members of expert advisory groups are asked to declare all matters which may represent a conflict of interest, or potential conflict of interest, relevant to the work of the Commission. 

An interest can be ‘direct’ (an interest of the individual) or ‘indirect’ (arising from an interest of close family).

Panel members are asked to declare the following interests:

  • Companies, or other bodies, likely or possibly seeking to do business with the Commission or the Gambling Industry, or the areas of work covered by your panel: Of which you, a member of your close family or your nominee are paid as either; an employee, partner, Director (including non- executive) or proprietor.
  • Companies and organisations likely or possibly seeking to do business with the Commission or the Gambling Industry or the areas of work covered by your panel: In which you, a member of your close family or your nominee has: a controlling interest or have share or securities with a nominal value of £25,000 or one hundredth of the total issue share capital.
  • Non-profit making organisation with which the Commission has dealings, or which works in areas of interest covered by your panel: Where you, a member of your close family or your nominee are a Trustee, or on the Committee of Management or other controlling body, of a not for profit business such as a charity.
  • Membership of, or receiving remuneration from, other public sector bodies: Such as Government Departments, Local Authorities; Health Authorities and Trusts; Magistrates Benches, Agencies, NDPB’s.
  • Land or Property: Where you, a member of your close family or your nominee own or have an interest in land/property that is owned, leased or rented by the Commission or organisations related to the work covered by your panel.
  • Transactions and arrangements: Where you, a member of your close family or your nominee own or have an interest in a transaction or proposed transaction or arrangement which involves the Commission or organisations related to the work covered by your panel
  • General, e.g. political: Any other interest you wish to declare.
