EuroMillions HotPicks Draw

I am writing to request information concerning the EuroMillions HotPicks draw held on 9 June 2026, specifically the Pick 1 game in which the advertised £10 prize was reduced to £8 per winner.

According to the published results, there were 8,106 winners in the Pick 1 category and each winner received £8 instead of the usual £10. The National Lottery website states that this occurred due to an "exceptionally large number of winners" and that the prize was capped.

To better understand how this reduction was calculated, I would be grateful if you could provide the following information, or advise where it may be obtained:

1)The total number of Pick 1 HotPicks entries sold for the draw of 9 June 2026 and the total value of sales attributable to Pick 1 entries

2) The total sales revenue generated from Pick 1 entries for that draw. The Prize Fund applicable to the Pick 1 game for that draw.

3)The calculation used to determine that the Pick 1 prize should be reduced from £10 to £8.

4) Any relevant licence, procedure, regulatory guidance, or operational document that explains the circumstances in which advertised HotPicks prizes may be reduced.

5) Any analysis, report, or correspondence held by the Commission concerning the triggering of the prize cap for this draw.

In your email you have requested information concerning the EuroMillions HotPicks draw held on 9 June 2026, specifically the Pick 1 game in which the advertised £10 prize was reduced to £8 per winner.

Specifically, you have requested, to better understand how this reduction was calculated, the following information, or advise where it may be obtained:

The total number of Pick 1 HotPicks entries sold for the draw of 9 June 2026 and the total value of sales attributable to Pick 1 entries.

The total sales revenue generated from Pick 1 entries for that draw.

The Prize Fund applicable to the Pick 1 game for that draw.

The calculation used to determine that the Pick 1 prize should be reduced from £10 to £8.

Any relevant licence, procedure, regulatory guidance, or operational document that explains the circumstances in which advertised HotPicks prizes may be reduced.

Any analysis, report, or correspondence held by the Commission concerning the triggering of the prize cap for this draw.

We do not hold any information on Pick 1 entries for the 9 June draw relating to questions 1, 2, 3 or 5.

Review of the decision

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your Freedom of Information request you are entitled to an internal review of our decision.
