Thank you for your request which has been processed under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
In your email you have referenced that the National Lottery holds a live draw for almost all of the prize draws however, there is no clear draw for the Euro Millions UK Millionaire Maker Code. You have requested the following:
The Gambling Commission’s responses to your enquiries are as follows:
1 – How is the UK Millionaire Maker Code drawn? The UK Millionaire Maker raffle is determined via a Random Number Generator process, which results in the random selection of a set (or sets) of winning numbers and letters for the UK Millionaire Maker game from the total number of entries for that draw. The odds of winning the UK Millionaire Maker Prize are (number of prizes available x one in the total number of UK Millionaire Maker Entries for that Draw).
2 – Why can’t it be drawn live? The UK Millionaire Maker game is not determined via a physical draw machine and is instead a randomly generated winner(s) from the total number of entries. Therefore, there is no live 'draw' to be shown.
3 – How can we confirm that every Tuesday/Friday someone did win rather than they claim someone has won?" The winning code can be found on the National Lottery website for the relevant draw. Further details can be found in the Prize breakdown The (EuroMillions draw details | Results | The National Lottery). (opens in a new tab) The UK Millionaire Maker winner(s) is selected from the total number of entries for that draw i.e. the raffle draw is only from the codes generated within that given draw. Therefore, in every UK Millionaire Maker raffle draw, there is guaranteed to be a UK winner for all prizes available in that draw.
With respect to the UK Millionaire Maker raffle and Random Number Generator processes, the Operator must comply with Licence Condition 17.4 of the Fourth National Lottery Licence (25_05_20_-_Fourth_National_Lottery_Section_5_Licence.pdf) (opens in a new tab) and the Operator is certified to the World Lottery Association WLA Security Control Standard L.8 - Random number generation (WLA Security Control Standard).
