Request

I am a university student who is conducting a study for my dissertation on the effects of unemployment on gambling habits and I intend to use some of the data you have collected in your yearly surveys for my research. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to provide me with some more information regarding the ethnicity and/or the region of the respondents as this would greatly aid my study.

Response

In your email you have requested information regarding the ethnicity and/or the region of the respondents to the quarterly telephone survey publications we release relating to gambling participation.

Section 21 of the FOIA provides that information is exempt where it is reasonably accessible elsewhere. To access this data collections, visit UK Data Service (opens in a new tab) and search ‘Gambling Commission’ in the data catalogue. The Data Collection is available to users registered with the UK Data Service.
