Response

Thank you for your request which has been processed under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

In your email you have requested for the period since 1st January 2014 to date, the number of applications for casino premises licences under the 2005 Act and variations of converted casino premises licences (where the Gambling Commission has received Notice of the Application) where the Commission has made representations that have been maintained until the hearing.

For the same period the number of such applications where the Commission has made representations adopting a neutral stance without formally objecting to the application.

The Commission does not issue premises licences. As such, no information falling within the scope of your request is held by the Commission.

The licensing of premises for gambling businesses is the responsibility of local licensing authorities (normally the Local Authority for the area where the business is located). You should contact individual licensing authorities to obtain more detailed information about premises licences.

You can find your local licensing authority (opens in a new tab) on GOV.UK
