Proposals for Gambling Commission fees - March 2008
Start
date: 10 March 2008
End date: 2 June 2008
Number of responses received: 25
This consultation, which was carried out
jointly by the Gambling Commission and the Department for Culture,
Media and Sport (DCMS), gave stakeholders, including industry
representatives and other interested parties, the opportunity to
express their views about the proposals.
The Gambling Act 2005 allows the DCMS to set
fees which will cover our operating costs. The government
believes that the full cost of providing regulation under the
Gambling Act 2005, should fall on those who provide and engage in
gambling activities, not the taxpayer.
We wrote to all licensed operators with
details of the changes in July 2008.
