As a result of this consultation, the Gambling
Commission published the 'Statement of principles - December
2006'.
This consultation set out our principles that
apply when exercising its functions under the Gambling Act
2005.
Changes from the original version (Statement
of principles - October 2005) were modest, with further text being
added to provide clarity in some instances and a few revisions to
the language or terminology used, to bring it up to date.
A further opportunity to comment on the draft
principles was provided through our subsequent consultations on
Licence conditions and codes of practice, Licensing, compliance and
enforcement and Financial conditions on gambling operators and
personal licence holders.
Responses to all of these consultations have
informed our development of the Statement of principles.
