Licensing authority returns
Licensing authorities are required to submit returns to the
Gambling Commission detailing:
- permits issued
- temporary use notices issued
- occasional use notices issued
- premises inspections conducted
- reasons for and outcomes of reviews.
If a licensing authority has nil activity to report, it must
still submit a return.
How can returns be submitted?
Submit your returns online or, if you are unable to use
the online system, you can download this template for submitting

The returns process
Following last year’s consultation, with Local Government
Regulation (formerly LACORS) and licensing authorities the
return should now be completed on an annual basis. The main changes
are as follows:
- the information requirements on the form have been reduced
- for the vast majority of licensing authorities the form will
now be annual rather than quarterly
- we have produced an analysis of the results and made it
available to all licensing authorities
- the form is available for completion online
- the annual return is due for submission in the six weeks from 1
April.
