Suspension of operating licence

The Gambling Commission (the Commission) has commenced a
review under section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005 (the Act) and,
under section 118 of the Act, has decided to suspend the General
Betting Standard Operating Licence, number 000934-N-102010-003 and
associated Remote Ancillary Licence, number 000934-A-307413-001
whilst the review takes place.
The suspension of the licence, which is held by David Stuart
Place trading as DSP Racing, is an interim measure, the need for
which will be kept under consideration during the review. DSP
Racing is a betting shop operator with an ancillary remote
telephone only licence.
UPDATE: The operating licence was
surrendered on 13 July 2011 under the provisions of Section 113 of
the Gambling Act 2005.

The Gambling Commission
- 1. The Gambling Commission (the Commission) regulates gambling
in the public interest alongside its co-regulators local licensing
authorities. It does so by keeping crime out of gambling, by
ensuring that gambling is conducted fairly and openly, and by
protecting children and vulnerable people from being harmed or
