First annual fee deadline approaches fast

Press release

Date: 27 September 2007

The Gambling Commission has reminded gambling operators of the approaching deadline for payment of their first annual fee to the Commission.

Over 2,400 gambling operators applied to be licensed by the Commission under the Gambling Act 2005 from 1 September 2007. A one-off application fee was required at the time of application with an operator's first annual fee falling due on 30 September 2007, 30 days after their licence took effect.

Operators who wish to retain their legal right to operate and have been in possession of an Operating Licence since 1 September should make their payment to the Gambling Commission immediately. Payments cannot be made by instalment.

Any operators who received their licence after the 1 September should ensure that they make their payment to the Gambling Commission within 30 days of the date stated on their licence.

All gambling operators have received written instructions on how to make their payment which can be sent by cheque to the Commission's postal address (see below) or made using a debit card (0121) 230 6666. Licensed operators are advised to include their licence number or GC reference in any correspondence or have their details available for reference when contacting the Commission.
