Casino games trials

Only the games detailed in the Rules of casino games in Great Britain - July 2008 may be played in British casinos.

However, with the prior permission of the Gambling Commission, other games may be operated, or new features to existing games added as a trial. Section 2 of Rules of casino games in Great Britain - July 2008 details the rules relating to the trialling and introduction of new games and variations.

Process for submitting a trial proposal

If an operator licensed by the Gambling Commission would like to submit a new game or game variation for trial they should submit their request to info@gamblingcommission.gov.uk

For clarity and consistency, wherever possible details of the game rules, house edge and table layout should be drafted in the style of the Rules of casino games in Great Britain - July 2008 document.

Approved trials

Once a trial proposal is agreed, details will be provided to the casino trade associations and the table of current ongoing trials will be updated accordingly. If a licensed operator subsequently proposes to adopt a trial game trial or variation, they should contact us with details of the casino and the proposed start date of the trial.
