You should pay your operating licence application fee at the same time as you submit your operating licence application.

If you run a betting shop, we work out your application fee, based on the number of shops you run:

Remote general betting (standard) (remote platform) operating licence

The application fee for a general betting (standard) (remote platform) operating licence is £198. There is no application fee if you are also applying for a non-remote general betting (standard) or non-remote general betting (limited) operating licence, or a remote general betting (limited) operating licence.

If you run a betting service on a track, we work out your application fee and your annual fee by the number of track days you attend:

Remote general betting (limited) operating licence fee

This licence allows you to provide facilities for betting only by means of a telephone or by email (in circumstances where bets taken are manually processed by the licence holder) up to a maximum annual gross gambling yield of £550,000. If bets are automatically processed by gambling software, or where any other means of remote communication is used to provide facilities for betting, or if your annual gross gambling yield exceeds £550,000, a remote general betting (standard) operating licence will be required.
