You need an operating licence from us if you would like to run a betting shop, conduct betting on a track, run a betting exchange or trading room, get involved in pool betting, or run a remote betting service.
- When do I apply?
You cannot start running your gambling business until you have obtained all the necessary licences.
- How much will my operating licence application cost?
You will need to pay a fee to apply for a betting operating licence. You should pay your operating licence application fee at the same time as you submit your operating licence application.
- How much will my operating licence annual fees cost?
You will need to pay your first annual fee to the Gambling Commission within 30 days, if we issue you with an operating licence. You will then need to pay an annual fee, before the anniversary date of the issue of your licence.
